Reliance has now announced the JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer which will begin from July 21, and those interested can purchase the JioPhone for a price of Rs 501, in exchange of their old feature phone. The offer will begin at 5:01PM on July 21, and the offer is only valid of the JioPhone, and not the newly launched JioPhone 2, which will be available starting August 15.
After exchanging an old feature phone, users will have to make a recharge of either Rs 49 or Rs 153 to enjoy all the 4G services on Reliance Jio’s network. The Rs 49 prepaid plan offers 1GB of 4G data along with unlimited voice calling for a period of 28 days while the Rs 153 plan offers 1.5GB of 4G data, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days.
In terms of specifications, the device features a 2.4-inch QVGA display along with an SD card slot. It also includes FM Radio. The company will also be adding NFC support to the JioPhone. The phone also comes with a distress button which would send a message to near and dear ones in case the phone user is in distress and presses the button. The phone can also link their Jan Dhan accounts and other modes of secure payments.
Recently, Chairman Mukesh Ambani at Reliance Industries' 41st annual general meeting announced the launch of new JioPhone 2. JioPhone 2 is the new and advanced version of already available JioPhone in the market. The sale of JioPhone 2 will start from August 15 at a starting price of Rs 2,999.
In terms of features, the new JioPhone 2 will be laded with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. The smartphone supports SD card for expandable storage up to 128GB. JioPjhas 2.4QVGA display. JioPhone 2 has comes with 2-megapixel rear camera and VGA front-facing camera. It also supports dual-SIM, LTE, and VoLTE, VoWi-Fi. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports FM, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and NFC. The smart feature phone also supports Facebook, YouTube, and WhatsApp applications.
The Jio phone, which was offered on payment of are fundable security deposit only, will provide Whatsapp, Facebook and Youtube commercially from August 15 this year, Mukesh Ambani said.
But if you are already an owner of the JioPhone, then you can upgrade to JioPhone 2 in just Rs 500. Mukesh Ambani during his address informed that old JioPhone users can exchange their phones in just Rs 501 under the special Reliance Jio Monsoon offer. The offer is valid till July 21.
